Black Ops 6 Season 1 Launch and Warzone Overhaul
Black Ops 6 Season 1 has launched, bringing a full Black Ops-themed overhaul to Warzone with new movement, weapons, and maps. However, one major issue needs urgent attention: audio.
The yearly multiplayer integration into Warzone is highly anticipated, heralding a new era for the battle royale game, and this iteration seems poised for success.
However, such integrations often entail significant changes for players, requiring time to adapt. For instance, the new omnimovement in Black Ops 6 will take some getting used to for Warzone players.
Unexpectedly, a significant audio issue has arisen, making it almost impossible to hear nearby enemies. Tweaking Warzone’s audio settings can only do so much when the sound mix is not up to par with the typical Call of Duty experience.
Many players have noted this issue. Top streamer JoeWo commented: “Not to glaze, but Warzone didn’t feel as bad as everyone is making it out to be. Besides not hearing a single footstep, which can be fixed, and a couple of inconsistent gunfights, the timeline is acting like we just got Warzone 2 again.”
Similarly, streamer Loochy pointed out that pre-integration audio and the audio across Black Ops 6 were fine, stating: “Yesterday on Warzone everything sounded fine. BO6 multiplayer had pretty good audio. Zombies had good audio. Warzone? Everything sounds muffled and footstep audio is just gone.”
While much of the game feels improved, audio remains crucial, especially in a battle royale setting where spatial awareness is key.
Warzone developers Raven Software have not yet publicly addressed the audio issue but have acknowledged other problems across BO6, Zombies, and Warzone, with fixes on the way. These include updates to ensure correct post-game XP gains and resolving the issue with the Ghost perk being locked.
